Proudly Serving Warren County, Middle Tennessee, and Customers Who Travel to Find Us
Some customers live right here in McMinnville. Others drive in from neighboring towns and counties.
And over the years, our reputation has reached beyond Middle Tennessee, with customers even making the trip from Kentucky.
At McMinnville Transmission, we're proud that people will travel to our family-owned shop when they need experienced transmission work. Our shop has been part of McMinnville since 1979, continuing a family transmission repair tradition that began in 1976. Today, owner Bo McCracken personally diagnoses and rebuilds transmissions in-house, carrying forward the knowledge and values his father, Chuck McCracken, passed down.
We have one location, and that's where our customers bring their vehicles:
McMinnville Transmission
1703 S. Chancery St.
McMinnville, TN 37110
(931) 473-5302
Whether you're coming from across town or another county, we encourage you to call before making the trip so we can confirm that your vehicle and transmission are within our service scope.
McMinnville & Warren County, Tennessee
McMinnville is home. Our shop has served generations of drivers, families, and local businesses since Chuck McCracken moved the business here in 1979. We work with customers from McMinnville and throughout Warren County who need help with slipping transmissions, hard shifting, fluid leaks, transmission warning lights, and other drivetrain concerns.
Our services include qualifying Transmission Diagnostics, targeted repairs, and in-house transmission rebuilding.
Serving Surrounding Middle Tennessee Counties
Our customers aren't limited to Warren County. People from surrounding communities also turn to McMinnville Transmission when they need a shop focused on transmission and drivetrain problems.
DeKalb County: Smithville and Surrounding Communities
Smithville has a special place in our history. Chuck McCracken opened his original transmission shop there in 1976 before relocating to McMinnville in 1979. That connection remains part of our story, and we welcome customers traveling from Smithville and DeKalb County.
White County: Sparta and Nearby Communities
Drivers from Sparta and White County can contact us about transmission slipping, delayed engagement, hard shifting, and other concerns. Because transmission symptoms can have different causes, we focus on understanding the problem before recommending major repairs.
Cannon County: Woodbury and Surrounding Areas
We welcome customers from Woodbury and Cannon County who are looking for an experienced transmission repair shop. Whether the concern involves an automatic transmission, a leak, or another qualifying drivetrain component, our team can discuss the vehicle and appropriate next steps.
Coffee County: Manchester and Nearby Communities
Drivers and business owners from Manchester and Coffee County can contact McMinnville Transmission about qualifying transmission work. If you rely on trucks for towing, hauling, or everyday business, our Fleet & Work Truck Transmission Repair page explains how we approach those needs.
Rutherford County: Murfreesboro and Surrounding Areas
We also welcome customers traveling from Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. When you're considering a major transmission repair, the shop's experience and the repair options available can matter more than choosing the closest location.
Van Buren, Grundy, and Sumner Counties
Our broader Middle Tennessee service area also includes customers from Van Buren, Grundy, and Sumner counties. Whether you're closer to Spencer, Altamont, or Gallatin, you're welcome to contact our McMinnville shop to discuss a qualifying transmission concern.
All work is performed through our single McMinnville location. We do not maintain separate repair facilities in these counties.
Yes, Customers Have Even Come From Kentucky
We're especially proud when someone is willing to travel beyond their local area to bring a vehicle to McMinnville Transmission. We've had customers come from Kentucky, which says something meaningful about the reputation this family business has built over the years. We're not claiming to have a Kentucky location or to operate a statewide service network. We're simply proud that our work has brought customers to McMinnville from outside Tennessee.
For a family shop that began in Smithville in 1976, having people travel that far is something worth appreciating.
Why Drivers Choose McMinnville Transmission
Transmission problems can be expensive and confusing, especially when a driver has already been told that a complete replacement may be necessary. Chuck McCracken taught his son Bo a principle that still guides the business: “Don't tell somebody they need a transmission unless you're sure they need a transmission.”
Today, Bo personally diagnoses and rebuilds transmissions in-house. His cousin Jeff Kemper brings more than 20 years of experience to the shop, while the next generation continues learning the trade. That combination of family history, hands-on experience, and attention to the actual problem is why we're proud to welcome customers from beyond our hometown.
